Cocovana just won the 2020 Big Idea Gator Business Plan Competition at the University of Florida! This is Cocovana's biggest win so far, and also the most challenging. It comes just as Cocovana Founder, Sheldon Barrett graduates from the University of Florida with a degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering. Barrett has turned down many interviews to become a full-time entrepreneur with Cocovana to revolutionize the coconut industry and promote a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle! Check out all the great articles linked below!
Presented by the UF Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center in the Warrington College of Business, the Big Idea Competition is a four-month event designed to help students grow their business ideas with a chance to win over $40,000 in prizes. Due to COVID-19, this year’s semi-finals and finals were hosted virtually.
Cocovana would like to thank the University of Florida Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center for putting up with us over the years! We would also like to thank all the judges and sponsors (Vera & Greg Muzzillo, Todd Hilde from Satellite Industries, and John & Jennie Williams) who made this competition possible during a pandemic. Thank you UF Engineering Department and UF Chemistry Machine Shop for all you’ve taught us over the years! And thank you to our Future Founders Family for all the help and support over the years! Thank you everyone and Go Gators!
