Cocovana Founder, Sheldon Barrett took second place in the Spartan Pitch Competition at the 2015 Southeast Entrepreneurship Conference (SEEC) in Tampa, Florida!
Barrett represented the University of Florida and had 90 seconds to pitch Cocovana to a panel of judges and competed for funding to kick-start his venture. Barrett focused his pitch on Cocovana's patented Coconut Twist, a tool to safely open fresh coconuts in seconds. This was the first time Barrett surprised the audience with the Coconut Twist patent hidden inside his shirt! Check out the video below!
SEEC 2015 was a two day conference that allows students to engage in networking opportunities with students and business professionals from across the nation. The CEO chapter at the University of Tampa worked diligently to recruit more than 20 speakers from all over the country.
Cocovana would like to thank the University of Tampa for this opportunity and for all their hard work to foster collegiate entrepreneurship. Cocovana would also like to thank the University of Florida Entrepreneurship & Innovation Center, and the UF Entrepreneurship Club for their support and sponsorship! Lastly, Cocovana would like to thank Michael Braddock and the Design & Manufacturing Laboratory for all their help along the way!
